Allan
Hall with 41 goals in 40 Football League Division Three North
games in 1931/32
is the highest individual scorer in a season. Prior to that season
the record went:
Apart from Hall only Andy
Graver (36 goals in 35 appearances) in 1951/52,
John
Campbell (35 in 42) in 1936/37
and Jimmy
Hutchinson (32 in 41) in 1947/48
have scored more than 30 goals in a Football League season for us.
Billy
Dinsdale is the only player to score in 10 consecutive Football
League games, a feat he achieved between August 29th 1927 and October
22nd 1927 when he scored 11 goals. In an 11-month period in 1927,
Dinsdale played 33 games for us and scored in 26 of them. He is also
the only player to score 20 or more goals in a season for us on four
occasions (1926/27
with 21, 1927/28
with 26, 1928/29
with 22 and 1930/31
with 20).
The youngest known player to score a goal for us is Andy
Hutchinson who was 17 years and 34 days old when he scored at Bradford
City on April
13th 2009. His goal on his full League debut saw him overtake Craig
Ramsay who was 17 years and 150 days old when he netted against Newport
County on February
16th 1980. Jimmy
Bauchop, meanwhile, was 37 years and 295 days old when he scored
against Wrexham
on March
12th 1924, our oldest known scorer.
Only three players have scored a goal without ever
starting a League game - Gary
Jones with two goals from four substitute appearances, Aron
Wilford with one goal from five games off the bench and Brett
Storey with one from two.
