CITY'S CENTENARY
May
2007 saw the conclusion of the 108th season of the Football League
since its formation in 1888 with Lincoln City reaching the milestone
of having completed their 100th season in the world famous
competition and, along with Stoke City who were also celebrating
their 100th season, they joined 24 other teams who had already
competed in either the Premiership or Football League in 100 or more
of the seasons.
Featuring over 200 pages of editorial and photographs, City's
Centenary covers the achievements, records, facts and statistics
from the Imps' first 100 seasons in the Football League whilst it
also incorporates the Top 100 Lincoln City League Legends, as voted
for by the supporters during the summer of 2006 to mark the 100
season milestone.
With a foreword by Colin Murphy, City's Centenary has
been produced by the Club's Media Manager John Vickers, who has
edited the Imps' award winning matchday programme since 2002 and the
Club's official website since 1998, and also features interviews with
a number of the aforementioned legends such as Percy Freeman and
Graham Taylor OBE.
